Does any use a Toro concrete mixer? I am thinking about purchasing one for my mt55. I will have to buy an adaptor plate for my machine, but I am not sure if it is worth the money because I will also have to buy a Toro auger power head and the cement bowl. I was given the price of $3100 for all thee items. We currently use a wheel barrel and hoe to mix our concrete and looking to upgraded and be more efficient. Just curious what you guys use for mixing concrete.

I already have a Toro Dingo and a auger head, but I use this.

The thing has been bullit proof. I'm sure that I've mixed 1000's of bags of concrete with this thing.

I would love to try one of those mixers for the mini skid steer though. It would eliminate a couple of steps in the mixing process, though I'm not quite sure how much time it would actually save.

This will mix over 330lbs of material. They even offer a stand for it so you can turn it on and walk away while it does its work.
It should be here sometime soon. It will kick that one mixers ass. Done several stamped concrete overlays with it.

I just can't bring myself to buy a mixer. I don't know why. I certainly wouldn't buy one for the mini. They are too expensive and logistically make no sense.

At least with a separate mixer, you can cart the bags in the mini bucket and keep them way up high so you are essentially dumping them from the bucket into the mixer. Lifting 80# bags is stupid when you have a mini.

Mark, can that one you have be left outside longterm on the job or does it need to be stored indoors?

Greg, my mixer has never seen a garage or cover. I put a garbage bag over the motor sometimes, but not always.

This mixer also dissassembles into 3 pieces for ease of moving.

I agree that the mini makes moving the sacks of concrete much easier, and also for holding them up at a comfortable height to load into the mixer.

Can you dump right into a 12" tube with that thing or what? Looks like a long shot to make the pour from that high up.

Greg, to give you a idea how long I've had that mixer. I think that I got it at HD for around $ 300.

I've never tried to pour it in a hole, just a wheelbarrow. Til I got the Mini, we would just set up the mixer in the most convenient place, near the holes, and wheelbarrow the sacks to it, and stack them next to the mixer. You can mix 2 sacks about as quick as you can put them in. As long as you put the water in first.

For what it's worth, we've got a mixer attachment for our Boxer, and have never used it.

We've found it's simpler to get a skid of crete on the truck, hand mix in a wheelbarrow, and dump in the holes.
Of course, we also only put 2 80's per hole, since we don't do the whole concrete-to-grade thing (but that's an argument for another post!).
