These DIY Sites Keep Getting Better
Found this on another DIY site...Im speechless and wouldnt even know where to begin
!Hopefully Ed doesnt think im posting this one for actual help. EDIT!!! here is what was posted: I would like to build a deck platform for an inflatable pool. The deck would be about 12" above the ground. The pool is 9' x 18' x 52". My calculations indicate that this would weigh about 42,000 lbs which would mean that I would need to support about 260 lbs per square foot. I know the standard is about 40 lbs/sqft. First, a concrete slab is not an option. I thought about making concrete piers 10" diameter about 6" above ground and 2' apart. Then mount 6'x6' treated beams across the piers. Then tie in 4'x4's perpendicular to the beams at 12" OC. then lay 5/4 x 6 decking on them. So, I'm looking for any other means of supporting this kind of weight. I really would like a deck option, but am open to any other ideas. Last edited by Dan_Watson; 09-01-2008 at 10:12 PM. |

That liner would be destroyed from putting it on lumber, not to mention one hell of a wierd feeling on the bottom of your feet.

Re: These DIY Sites Keep Getting Better
is this where you found it?
http://www.decks.com/Topic5357-21-1.aspx I like his response where he says that he didn't want to level the ground in order to put the pool out, so he thought this solution would be easier! |
