Really Bad Dec Pics
I recently did an estimate to tear down and rebuild this deck. The screened in area under the deck was a retrofit that included cutting off the existing 6x6 posts to make room for the screened in walls.

To rice and beans no less. No biggy. There's plenty more where that came from, Im sure.
You didnt lose it, because you never had it. I always look at it that way.

Re: Really Bad Dec Pics
If they hired some ass to build the screened in porch like that and then you didn't win the bid because someone came in that low...no lose, you will be back next year to fix it after the new co. ****s it up

Re: Really Bad Dec Pics
The folks just bought the house, so they aren't the ones who hired the screenpros.
Company that won the bid dug down next to the concrete slab and dupposedly determined they could just fasten the deck posts on top of it. I didn't ask the HO but I'm more than a little bit skeptical that the slab footings are 36" below grade, let alone that the footings are sufficient to handle the dead load of the deck, the roof they want to put on in the future, and the live snow loads let alone people and furniture.
