Leave it up to a mason to throw in some brickwork in almost any project

He had to put the bricks in didn't he. Nice caps, but I think he needs some lights on those posts instead.

& close off those risers if they are larger than 4". Other than that, nice work. How long did it take you?

How big is it? 8x12? Bet you charged more than $899...

These people have the house up for sale. That's why they only wanted to spring for the PT and not Trex. And oh yeah what's wrong with a little brick throw in?????

I like it,

I don't care for the spindles being longer than the bottom 2x4 though,

If you don't skimp on the deck-mate screws and use two top and bottom, you won't have a twist problem. And besides I happen to like the overhang at the bottom of the spindles, it gives more detail;and detail sells!!!

Re: PT Deck Pictures

I will assess that you are a detail, gotta-line-up-perfectly, symmetrically-oriented person. A perfectionist with simple but practical taste. Pragmatic. The perfect spacing of EVERY screw gave it away.

And yes! Had the spindles not extended beyond the bottom rung, it would look awkward. Unfinished. IMNSHO!

Would love to see some lighting integrated in to the area. Above, below, around and within. An under-lit deck adds an interesting ambiance on a warm summers night.

Re: PT Deck Pictures

Nice detailed work for a PT deck. I will have to agree with Curapa on the 2x2's hanging below the bottom rail. I've always thought part of the appeal of a raised bottom rail was so you can broom off leaves/dirt/debris & those would prohibit that. Only my opinion, not a knock on your work.
