Porch Railing
Hi All,
I am gathering opinions on the best way to anchor 4x4 posts to a set of brick steps that I am building a railing for. Or I guess I should say, what is the preferred method for anchoring wood to brick? |

Re: Porch Railing
Your better off drilling a long dowel into block below the brick then use a concrete setting mix to lock it in. You need to leave it sticking up to transfer that dowel into the post. Im sure Simpson has a similar connector that protects against unlift. I would not surface mount anything on a brick tread as it will break apart with one hit.

Re: Porch Railing
I'm prettu much with Tom as far
as surface mounts on brick. You are only anchored to the brick. Is there any chance you could mount them to the side of the steps? ,Lag and shield?
