Need Some Help

Hi everyone,

First post here so be nice, I am a general contractor in Philadelphia. I rarely do decks, but a friend of mine needs some help with his. In my signature below is a link for a picture of the current deck which i plan to rip out completely as it is not up to code and falling apart.

I will be extending the deck about 3 feet to the right and building a new rail for the downstairs steps. Also I will be bringing the deck out another 5 feet as it is currently only 11 feet from the wall, this way i will not need to make many cuts. Also I was thinking of changing the step location to be in line with the door.

Does anyone have any other ideas/design tips?

Invalid Attachment specified.

You need 15 posts, I think, in order to use the attachment feature...

Design tips/ideas... honestly, bring in a deck designer. Not an archy, a deck designer. We can lob some ideas your way... but someone on site will be the most accurate at answering your htoughts & helping your friend with their deck needs.

Sorry this isn't more detailed. I'd have more if the pic link worked!

Re: Need Some Help

You must think we're a bunch of idiots over here.

You're NOT a General Contractor and you posted tha same pictures here as you did on DIYChatroom.com here: http://www.diychatroom.com/f14/deck-design-ideas-42886/

Coming here and lying won't get you any help

Over on DIYChatroom, it's YOUR deck and YOUR dog yet you magically became a GC when you came over here.

Move along...
