Re: More Curves
Nice work!
How long did it take you to stain hat undercarriage? I don't have the patience for that but it would be a nice upsell on the right deck

Re: More Curves
Geting strength with that inside cap/botom rail with no center post is pure genius. It looks like you used the little shoes and steel balusters over there. J.

Re: More Curves
Another project that I would have to think three times about attempting. Good Job.
![]() Is it me or the pix's, but something doesn't look quite right regarding the inside stair railing. It's probably the image perspective. |

Re: More Curves
I am thinking a roof of somekind is under the decking so the project drains to the outside. If so that post beam conection to the left of the warped stairway is exposed to the drain water, not good. J.

Re: More Curves
I'm hoping that it has one of those underdeck drain troughs, that drain into a gutter at the beam.

Re: More Curves
I recently rediscovered this forum. I forgot I joined a couple of years ago.
we built this set of steps back in 08. We used Moisture Shield for the fascia and most railing parts. Fiberon tropics jatoba for the decking. we have been installing a dry in system we developed about 5 years ago that allows us to use whatever finished ceiling material is desired. We used a rough sawn plywood which is a very popular soffit material here. This projects ceiling has been stained all columns have been faced with rock veneer since this picture. And Mac this is Barry. John I can assure you the top of that dropped beam is not exposed to water. We live in Colorado ,at elevation, so moisture is almost non existent. |
