Latest Project Pics

Kept sort of a "blog" online, so the homeowners could see the progress, since this is their summer home and they were not in yet.

How is the top of the stairs supported? There is a section of the deck that wraps around the side and the stairs are attached to this section. I'm guessing existing cantilever from floor system. I'm not too fond of design like that. I know it's not your design.

Now that looks like Sea Isle City to me, or some parts of Avalon. Nice work

Re: Latest Project Pics

Not to hijack this thread, but here is what I got to work on this week.
Cantilevered floor joists supporting exterior deck walk, improperly flashed.

You might not be able to tell from the pics, but we had to replace the top plates, supporting floor above, and most of the studs.

Yea, it hate the design, it's a double cantilevered 2 x 10 at the end of that catwalk that the top of the upper stairs are attached to. I wasn't happy with the springiness of the stringers so I added that prop to the ground.

Yes, it is Sea Isle City, they do all look similar down here.

Looks like it might have
gotten "damp" in there once.

Re: Latest Project Pics

Very nice work. Top notch.
One question: why wouldn't you change ALL the framing? The extra cost for the existing joists to be taken out couldn't have been much, and I'm sure would have made the job much easier.
