Japanese/East Indian/Mediteranean Railing Styles?

I have someone who wants some eclectic/worldly/interesting, railing ideas. They want it to be fairly dense, tight spacing between ballusters and rails for example. But not too heavy looking.

Any thoughts/websites for inspiration?

I have a ton of bamboo cured and stacked in a rack, going to try to use it up. may even turn out to be a good profit. I think bamboo railing and privacy screening is going to be the next big thing in decking. just not sure how it holds up to deterioration yet

I know it works great on patio roofs here in Texas that need an extra sunblock. It can be rolled up under the beam when not needed & let down to get additional shade. Bamboo makes a pretty decent flyrod too.
