Ideas To Make Life At Work Easier

I'd love to hear what you guys came up with.

Here's my idea (inspired by my guitar pedal board). Got tired of running extension cords everywhere.

Mind reader! I just picked up another cordless drill and was going to make charger mount like that. It never occurred to me to add a power strip to it.

How did you wire all three of those chargers to one plug? Just a big splice? I can't tell.

Re: Ideas To Make Life At Work Easier

I got one of those very boxes, the breaker kept kicking off so one day...... after I dont know how many raged moments... I took the thing apart using only the box and throwing away the breaker I installed the most expencive outlets I could find and wired them with #8 wire along with a 14' #8 cord.

That was 5 years ago I love that thang!!! Even pluging in out side that big wire has so little resestance I have to be pluging into a mobile home wired with 14 g and run everything at the same time to trip the breaker.

I dident hard wire the chargers, its hard enough to teach the Boys to be carefull with that one unit much less something that complex as the silerverado gets loaded.

Side Note>>> the osha mafia hates that thing so keep it under corver if they happen along<<<

Re: Ideas To Make Life At Work Easier

Very good idea. We had that same power strip and the same problem with the breaker and also eliminated it. Eventually we were able to drop enough stuff on it to render it useless. But I like the idea, very efficient.

Just a freindly heads up though. I think it is illegal to mention the word guitar in a post and not tell a little about it or the music it makes. Or probably ought to be.

Good Luck

I'm so pleased that we who play the guitar could help you solve your problem. We often use outside technology to solve/produce our sounds.

You have found another avenue/application to solve your problem.

Best to you. Original thinking can carry you far.

Re: Ideas To Make Life At Work Easier

Greg Di, that is just a splice- I don't know whether that's good for the batteries though. Sometimes that breaker does struggle when I have the compressor running and I have to wait for it to stop to make a cut. And cutting wet lumber on the table saw is out- I just go direct. I'll upgrade it one day- maybe make one with a 20 amp breaker.
David C, that would be a Fender semi-hollow tele and a strat. -rock/blues/ whatever.

Nice choices there too. For me it's an Alverez acoustic, slow rock/blues and oldies.

Good Luck

I mostly use Milwaulkee tools, so they make a 3-bay charger that I use. That rig in the OP post is top notch. Has my approval, 100%.

Re: Ideas To Make Life At Work Easier

I took out the screws that hold the molded halves together, used the bottom halves as a template, drilled through, than used various length screws to put it all back together. I spliced and soldered the 2 milwaukee and makita chargers together into a common shortened pigtail, same with the 2 paslodes, before I had a tangled ratsnest of chargers now its neat and clean
as an aside, corded tools are a pita all together when it comes to wrapping and stowing them, about 2 years ago I got a bunch of male plug adapters and cut the cords off of every tool I own, about a 1' cord is all there is on every tool I own, very neat when storing, i have been doing it to every tool purchase since

2 lazy to pull 2 measurements, I made a bunch of butcher block stock few years ago(xmass gifts) out of alternating glued up 1x1 mahog/cherry/birch, I had a nice size chunk laying around I was going to use, but opted for the chunk of ply instead, couldnt bring myself to wasting it on this thing

Crooked what? It's ergonomically correct.
