Hydaulic Jackhammer

Has anyone used a hydraulic jackhammer. I saw one that ran at 15 to 17 gpm and was wondering if my auger pump on my dirt hog would run it just to break up rock. I never saw one before so i was wondering how good they work.

If your pump is capable of 15 gallons/minute you should be good to go.

I know a guy who has one and works real well, the only issue is that hydraulic systems tend to get hot, very hot. That in turn makes those hammers a real hot job if you need to use it for any length of time.

Thanks for info. I just need it to clear rocks in fence post holes. Seeing I have the auger with me I thought it would be a good way to go instead of a electric.
