loneframer, I never once asked for any opinions about doing the work or not. I asked for information to do it properly. I have used membranes MANY times in YOUR neck of the woods of South Jersey, since I AM a jersey boy myself. I have spent much of my time building competely custom kitchen and baths, INCLUDING custom showers for many years. A lot of my work is in Alluvium and Alluvium woods of Voorhees, as well as a lot of Marlton and Mt Laurel area, Im sure that you have heard of these places, as I was based out of voorhees. I left because the economy is crap there with corzine, and my wife was offered a job in florida, to me it was the perfect time to bail on new jersey and those ridiculous property taxes. Never have I advertised for anything for my work, it has been word of mouth since I had a reputation built because I worked for a slacker way back when. Waterproofing this deck ain't rocket science, don't give yourself that much credit for being a dick about it. It's no big deal. Like I have stated, I was looking for some good input on what material would be best suited for the waterproofing. Obviously your opinions fell short, and you still keep going. My assumption is that you seem to have a problem with a new forum member trying to get some guidance in new territory. I would surely hope that you dont treat your clients in the same manner, i thought your mama woulda taught you better than to talk down to others. And I am glad that you are on your job 100% of the time, yay for you. Actually that is surprising in jersey. But, if you reread my post, instead of making it about you and your little business, you would understand that I actually felt bad about a previous post and my line about the small stuff referred to that. You should take a moment and think about how small you really are in this world, it ain't about you.

You actually gave a good idea here, I looked into poly, gave my buddy the idea and he said the prices were too high. I have done FG decks in Ocean City, NJ, but he was afraid of the possible high, hurricane force winds here.

Funny, the supplier and the manufacturer both said that as long as their was a covering that wouldn't allow direct damage, that it would be fine, in fact if it were not to be covered, that I should use a different makeup to have a white membrane because the epdm in direct sunlight shrinks over time, The allotted amount is for waterproofing, i dont do carpet at all, it is up to brian to have a carpet guy out, to handle any sort of barrier before installing berber outdoor carpet. Yet you werent being an a$$ h0le in that post either? What did you think? I was gonna throw new materials over old rotted crap? stupid way to think ain't it? I know I'm a professional, with accreditation to prove it, you?

Just reread your previous posts that I have neatly organized for you and noted all of your posts accordingly, I know it must be hard to read and sound out the words over 3 pages of text. Especially when I use a lot of big words, just sound out the letters. You'll get it all, eventually.

All I wanted john, was good information. This guy has done nothing but insert his negativity in this thread. I quoted every post he made. nothing but negative bs, besides the first thread. If you reread the thread, I am just tired of repeating myself and defending myself to someone called "loneframer" from jersey, simply because he feels that the project will fail because he isn't doing it. In all reality he's probably a typical white trash hack from gloucester city or deptford, and he's pissed bacause he can't feed his addictions.

I just made an assumption, kind of like the assumptions he has made about me in this thread.

Like I stated before, Im just a guy trying to help a friend, and if I lern something new in the process, great. It's sad that his lack of desire to just lend a helping hand has turned this into such an entertaining thread for everyone.

The guy tried to help you avoid doing a hack job for your friend, yet you didn't want take advice from a professional when you asked for it, so why bother asking for it?

I suggest you get your panties unbunched and tell your friend to hire a contractor who knows what they are doing, as a professional does not need to go on a website asking how to do a job.

he helped in the first post, good info, said it already. dont make assumptions, it just leads to more comments. The job is quite simple, so I dont understand the problem with loneframer. Like I have said, it ain't rocket science.

I am a new jersey contractor, a nebraska residential contractor, and since I have just relocated to florida, I have local HM license in multiple counties, Window, door, siding licenses as well, and will be testing for residential contractor in the fall in tallahassee, if you must know.
