Fasteners For Azek
I've been building docks with mostly IPE, with stainless steel screws. I'm getting ready to deck my 1st with Azek. Are Trapeze 2 screws good for installing Azek? Any other suggestions?

GRK makes a great trim head screw for this and composites.

Re: Fasteners For Azek
Azek is PVC, which is much less dense than hardwood and composites. All you need is a simple #7 x 2 1/4" or #8 x 2 1/2" stainless steel trim head screw, there won't be any mushrooming so no need for trap-ease. You can get said screws with color-matched heads specifically for Azek deck colors.

Hey AS22,
That wouldn't happen to be YOUR website, now, would it? Looks kinda homegrown... It being your first post and all, I'd hate for you to be trying to sneak in some illegal advertising on this forum. Mac |

Re: Fasteners For Azek
May as well tag on to this.
Anyone got a better scource than McFeely's for white S.S. trim heads? I've given up on local suppliers, either don't have or need to special order....new business models..... ![]()

Re: Fasteners For Azek
Try manasquanfasteners.com, though I've never ordered from there. All the lumber yards in my area carry either headcote of Swan Secure stainless products.

carry the Swan, or others, but not in color match...just mill S.S. Turns out though the salesman at the yard where I ordered the Azek just discovered (yesterday) that they actually do stock HeadCotes! pin-headed

Re: Fasteners For Azek
Funny how, when you let them know your money is going elsewhere, your yard figured out that they CAN actually get the screws for you!
Hey Neo, post pics of this thing when you build it - it sounds like a cool design! Mac |

Re: Fasteners For Azek
My local supplier caries headcotes, but they are about 25% higher then I can get online at either Mannequin or the Deckbuilder outlet.
