Fasten Base Of Lattice

Okay now Im a newbie to site so take it easy. Skirting in existing deck with lattice. Deck is 12 x 10 six feet of ground. The posts for the beam are set in and customer wants lattice on outside edge (rim joist?) What would you recommend to hold the base of lattice where meets ground.

Re: Fasten Base Of Lattice

either frame it in or dig a 6" deep trench and drop it in but at 6' tall you will need some sort of framing

Re: Fasten Base Of Lattice

Make individual frames for each section that you lay out.

It doesn't take too long once you get your sizes the same.

I always use 2x4 ripped down the middle and rabbet out an edge, attatch lattice to the back.

I usually make the panels removable for just in case.

Small stakes at the bottom, drove into the gound 12" should take care of any floppies.

You are very welcome. Can someone tell me what to charge for my advice? Now that the fun is over, we usually build a pressure treated frame, nail the lattice to it then frame it in Azek.with the square pattern, we try to hide the studs behind the vertical lattice members.
