Enclosing Horses
What in your opinion is the best fence to enclose horses in. I am looking at longevity, durability, and looks great. Thanks

Re: Enclosing Horses
Perhaps something like metal or pvc will work.

Re: Enclosing Horses
Around my parts, any post and rail fence constructed with flat boards for rails, regardless of what it's enclosing, is called "horse fence". I know the Tractor Supply catalog has a section in the front with dimensional and quality arrangements for high-tensile fences to enclose horses. I know that large pastures, to keep costs down, use a flat tape type fence (which looks like automobile seat belt material) to enclose horses. It has a bit of fine wire woven into it so that it can be connected on a fencer. The metal and PVC horse fences that I see in my area are enclosing horses in pastures next to million dollar homes, so I expect that metal and pvc are high dollar ways to enclose a horse. The PVC fencing that you'd buy at a home center wouldn't last 5 minutes trying to contain a horse. The PVC fencing intended to enclose horses has heavy metal rails inside it.

Re: Enclosing Horses
One of the cheapest options is "american wire fence". It is a woven wire fence fabric, sorta like chain link. The squares are smaller at the bottom, so that the horse can't step into it and get it's foot snared in it. It's normally installed on driven pressure treated posts, much like high tensile fence.
