Re: Deck Tools $1495

Wow, you should have said slashed their prices, that's a huge reduction (over 50% off). I wonder if a competitor came out with something comparable or better for less.

At $3000+ maybe they just weren't selling enough

They're removing the $150 per month option, and need a more simplistic platform.

Actually, it's $400 less for NADRA members, which more than pays for your NADRA membership...

Here's the NADRA press release:
http://www.nadra.org/industry_news/nadradt081407.html

Here's the DeckTools release:
http://www.decktools.com/pressreleases.aspx#PR070714

I just switched from the $150 monthly plan to the $1100 & I own it plan.
it's a no-brainer.

I'm looking to add a laptop with decktools to our "arsenal" of selling tools for next year- now I might be able to afford it! LOL

If you've got questions that aren't answered in the linked articles, please let me know & I'll do my best to update ya.

Re: Deck Tools $1495

I am on the subscription thing right now. I bitched about the price a few weeks back. They actually blocked a reply to a post I made on the user forum. $1500 is more in line with what I thought it should cost. It's a nice program, but not worth $3500! Especially when you can buy Autodesk Inventor for $1800 more at $5300 & it's a full blown industry leading 3D program with true to life modeling. I still plan on getting Inventor for permit drawings, etc., but will use Decktools as my in home sales software. People like pretty pictures, they don't care if the substructure is correct or not.

Re: Deck Tools $1495

This is very good news. I have wanted to use this program but not at their outragous price. I feel the new price is very reasonable. I will be purcusing it at the deck expo in florida next year.

This also makes it more interesting to join NADRA, with the discounted pricing.

Re: Deck Tools $1495

I went ahead and changed from the lease plan to the outright purchase. I went for the $1495.00 deal because that gives the 2008 upgrade for "free".

It's a great program, but the learning curve for benches, trelis, and skirting is too time consuming.

How easy is it to put in differant colors on the borders? And put differant angles in differant sections?

Like this one.
