Deck Lighting Suggestion...

Well I already have the cheesy Malibu brand hooded ambient lights. They are 7 watts and go on each post. Any suggestions on how to hide the wiring for each light? The next door neighbor has them installed but the wires are hidden and I have no access to the deck to see how the guy did it! It's like magic! My customer also , of coarse wants it the look the same! Stupid lights! Ughhhh!
Thanks in advance!

A really long drill bit... Maybe... I would bet that the you could drill down the post some and then drill through the side where the 2x4 and 2x6 come together. Then dado a groove in the rail top cap for the wires to tuck into.

Great suggestion.! I was hoping there was another way as I already installed the posts so it would be tough to go that route. Next time I'll sell it as I construct and drill will posts on the ground. I'm trying to come up with some type of cover system, kind of like wiremold. Anyone ever do that?

Yes, take a 1x2 and dado out what you need to run your wires and then finish nail it to the posts, if stained the same as the railing it actually looks like a detail!

4x4 posts cladded with 1x wood.

tack the wire to the 4x4, and you can drill deep hole in both to tuck in the connectors.

but, that's me. I like to box out the 4x4's into 6x6 or 8x8 size posts.
