Deck Lighting?

I am a sparky by trade and was wondering has anyone here installed lighting on a deck before? I thought about installing something on my own deck and haven't seen any decks in the field that have had any lighting except for a spot light. I thought about installing the flush floor mount or the lights under the railing. I was aiming toward the indirect lights but the flush mount look decent on the internet sites. Decisions, decisions?? If anyone has installed them before what are some good brands? Any suggestions are appreciated. Rope lights even crossed my mind but kind of tacky don't ya think. By the way there is no roof over the deck.

It's code here in VA to have lighting on your stairs. You can go to Rockler.com and look at a few different types, but your local electrical supplier should have the same types shown at rockler. I've never installed them under the rail but it sounds like a good effect. I do know they have post cap lights. Good luck and post up some pics.
