Deck Lighting

I've been researching low voltage deck lighting lately. Something I really need to add to my bag-o-tricks. Nice article in this months Pro Deck Builder, but I was wondering what most of you guys do as far as the 120v supply line. Do you tap into the Exterior recepticles or run a whole new line. Any tricks or procedures, photos, etc. would be appreciated. I've never messed with this stuff before & wanted to get as much info before I even thought about offering it to a customer. I have a monster deck I need to start in a couple weeks & this would be a nice addition to it if I could sell it.

Thanks,
Dan

Re: Deck Lighting

For decks, I try to keep things simple.
We use De-Kor lights, and use an exterior (existing) outlet whenever possible.

Very easy install, upgradeable, and the HO's really seem to love it!

Cost is tough to pin, of a basic system it could be $100 - 400 per fixture...

HTH,

So you just plug the tranformer into the recepticle?

Re: Deck Lighting

you got it!

They come with a wireless remote, so you don't have to fuss with which outlet to use too much.

Alos, nice company to work with- & can order direct (De-Kor.com) .
