Re: Deck Framing Advice
First off you are in New Jersey. There are about 4 million New Jersey contractors on the "Contractor Talk" forum. From them I have concluded (among other things) that your area requires a building permit to perform this type of work. I would recomend calling in your framing inspection at this point. That way you could gauge what you need to do for more support. Obviously a first year carpenter can tell you need the center post down to a pier at minimum, but I see a couple of other areas that may need to be addressed if it was attempted in my area.
Having said that, your work area is very neat, and it appears that you are making every effort to provide a solid platform. Anyone that looks at your work would conclude that you are a good craftsman. Don't confuse that with a good architect or good engineer though. |
