Re: Deck Estimating

Probably not what you want to hear, but build a few and keep track of how long each phase takes and extrapolate it to the next one. After about 30 years, you'll at least have a clue.

Re: Deck Estimating

Thats about the size of it. No matter what you charge, keep track of expenses vs income. Thus you will know what to charge.

Re: Deck Estimating

You expect to come here and have us give you what took us years to learn? For a small fee, maybe, but definitely not for free. For the low price of $299 I will give you my pricing structure for decks. PM me if you're interested.

I'll do it for $298 - but you'll have to do the conversions to US$ yourself

Re: Deck Estimating

Get yourself the Craftsman Estimator on-line. This should get you in the ballpark for labor costs. I think it's about $60.

Re: Deck Estimating

Check in you area and see what decks are going for. Call around you will learn alot doing the jobs. But you will also have low-bidders come in and bid on it too. I set my price I need to get and if I get job great if it go to low bidder he will just work for less than me.
