Comfort+ Outdoor Deck Veneer!

Any of you guys have feedback on this stuff. Got a customer who wants to use it but I know nothing about it. Seen it about but never seen it being put down. Works out to about $2.50sqft plus the cost of the screws and adhesive so I'm guessing around $3-$3.20sqft material costs.

Re: Comfort+ Outdoor Deck Veneer!

That stuff is almost as bad as the paint on deck they got out now..

As good as you glue and screw it, the stuff is eventually going to move around and pop up and look discusting...

But if the client wants it.. make sure to write a disclaimer..

If you compare the price of the stuff and labor to lay it, new fiberon pro-tect series or the like dont sound to far off.

Id give them a quote for the stuff they want with no warranty and then a quote for a cheaper composite with my full warranty and let them decide.

Tell me about it. I know its cheaper than replacing the deck boards with composite but they do have a good frame and good condition deck boards.

I'm more concerned about how well it handles heat and stays down. I can picture it having ripples all across its length when it heats up.

if framing is good just re-deck it. composite is the same price. That's a lil ghetto. A man of your taste will hate himself in the morning. re-deck or next job.

Some of these companies will try anything to make a buck. A BS product if I ever saw one.

I sure as heck would not make my customer guinea pig that stuff.

The gamut has pretty much been covered but we might as well throw in a "friggun ridiculous" for good measure.

So what happens to all the moisture trapped under it? Kiss that good decking and frame goodbye...

Its wrong in so many ways its crazy. What about the current decking not being able to vent? What about cupping, natural movement, cracking/checking of current decking? What about ends where cavities are inevitable between decking and veneer and promotes mold growth? Could go on and on and on.

Its basically wrong in every aspect of wood being outdoors.

Re: Comfort+ Outdoor Deck Veneer!

Yeah, but it protects the wood underneath. no more UV damage.

You notice how the edges are turned down. I think it's a great idea.

Re: Comfort+ Outdoor Deck Veneer!

can't find one single review. Lowes sales woman said its been flying out the doors and they ain't had one issue upto yet. think I'm gonna steer clear of this one. like some have says its almost as cheap putting down real composite. would live to see a picture of one a year old that's been in the sun all summer.
