Cement Or Not


i am building a privace fence 6ft. Should i use concrete on every post or corners and gates only? What size post for corners and gates?Is quick crete just as good as ready mix?

Sounds like you are installing wood fence ? I've been installing wood fence for almost 20 years now with pt post and never cement them in. After the hole is dug and post is in, i fill the hole a little at a time and tamp the dirt real tight and so on and so on,all the way up.If its packed well its very strong.If the dirt don't seem to pack well ,some soils don't,you can use some dry sand or/and small pea gravel to help make it tight.Wood post are prone to rotting were it meets the concrete,pt or not.Therfore i wouldn't recommend cement.99% of the fence companies that i know of also do not cement there would post it.

Thanx i would also be instaling a double drive thru gate.Should i do the same or use bigger post like 6x6 set deeper?

6x6 at least three feet in the ground is an excellent choice
