Anyone using it for decks?

I use it for all projects, takes longer than newer software out there but I like it.

AutoCAD 2000 LT is all I use for decks.
I like it, but I haven't tried any of the high priced deck design programs.

Re: Autocad 2000

I've used it for decks before. But I got to tell you that AutoCAD 2000 is nothing compared to the newer version of AutoCAD. Currently I'm use AutoCAD 2007 LT. Its a good product. Very stable program. And I like LT's price much better the a full version. Well worth the money!

Re: Autocad 2000

LT is great for plans and elevations, doesn't do 3-d. It's faster as you don't get so many options every command, so you save a 'click' here and there.

I used LT for years but switched to full 2000 when I needed to import stuff from engineers etc. who do use the full version, which can't be read by LT.

Re: Autocad 2000

Basically LT doesn't have 3D, LISP, ARX and VBA capabilities. But that doesn't brother me. I don't draw in 3D and I can get what I need out of scripts and menu macros. There are a few other little things that I have noticed LT doesn't have. Like sheet set manager and standards manager. No big deal. And for the record. LT and Full version AutoCAD drawings are interchangeable. LT drawings can be opened with a Full version and vice versa. I know that for a fact because I use 2007 LT and a full version of 2002 for my business.

Re: Autocad 2000

I stand corrected C4, this arose for me back in 2000, when I was running LT (95 edition) and couldn't run files from my engineer who was on 2000. Maybe I just didn't know how.
