Anyone Used Tamko Elements Decking?
Has anyone used Tamko Elements decking?
It's significantly less expensive than Trex, but the samples seem to be decent quality. Tamko is a reputable company, so I would think they'd make a quality composite deck product. I'd love to hear some first-hand impressions from any who has used it though! Thanks, Kevin

Re: Anyone Used Tamko Elements Decking?
It's a smaller board... kinda like Trex Contours. Moisture Shield also has a cheep board available.
Remember, it'll be more boards to handle and more fasteners. That being said, it does look nice, and I've tried to see if I can locate a market for it, but haven't come across one yet. ~Matt |

Re: Anyone Used Tamko Elements Decking?
Thats pretty funny, I just took a couple of samples of the Elements and Evergrain decking out of my garage and I was browsing their websites right before I read this post.
The Elements boards are nice and light but they are only 5 1/4" wide. I dont know how well a hidden fastener system would work with the product even though their literature says its compatible. They are nice and light though, in comparison. |

I forgot to mention one of their major downfalls is their lack of color selection.

Exactly- I haven't found the right end user. Any yes, our local Kohl's has it available as well.

I just installed about 400 sf of the Elements in grey. You have to pic frame the deck since it's corrugated. It marks up really easily but what composite doesn't? The grey is pretty dark and gets quite hot in the sun. It's good for covered porches which we used it for.

I'm using the 7/8" by 5 1/2" boards and it seems to be a good product. It's a little tough getting used to but it sure looks good once its in. Also you can use the traditional railings which I prefer to the design railings they have. Feel free to ask more about it since we're still on the project. Steve Richmond, CA. |

Re: Anyone Used Tamko Elements Decking?
I am a fan of tamco. I have used evergrain on many decks. Have not had any trouble. Certain colors do seem to fade.

It's a quality product. I think there's a 25 year guarantee. It's also heavier than wood FYI.
