3 1/2" Wide Level

Does anyone know where I can get a 3.5 inch wide level? I need to put up 600ft of 1x4 picket fence, and would like to just run it without using a spacer and a level.
Thanks in advance.

Why not level your first one, then pull you layout and then spot check as you go!

level first one, use a 2x4 block to space between each picket.

why not put your top and bottom rail together and scribe your layout like plates when framing a wall

Small world...
The problem is if I level the first, the 3,4,5th etc will start to get out of plumb. No problem really, but with this much fence, I don't want to carry a level all over this property as well as a 2x4 block. I do it normally, I just don't want to.
The customer changed it to a 2.25 space (the width of my level) this am, so now it is mute.
About scribing the framing: the framing will be following grade up and down hills so the marks would have to be plumb as well. Too much work.

Thanks everyone!

I know it's moot now, (and mute as well I guess), but could you have attached something to one side of the level to thicken it? You would still have one good edge to work with to check plumb. Buy a cheap level and pimp it up, ya know.

Bone saws method is the best though.

so how is that any different from laying out baluster spacing on stairs, scribe and cut your t/b rail to your posts, put both edges of t/b rail (facing each other as installed) up, align (long to long/short to short), pull layout, scribe, lay t/b rail on thier sides(as installed) align(long to short) connect the dots, doesn't get any easier or accurate than that

That's how I would do a railing, but this fence is over hilly terain and about 600 ft, some of it in the woods. I won't have a work area unless I want to run up the hill, scribe rails, go back to table, mark and then install. This doesn't have to be dead nuts perfect, I just don't like pickets that are out of plumb either. I would normally just use a scrap 1x4 as a block, but I want one less thing in my hand.
Anyway, HO solved the poblem...imagine that!

I hope you increased the price since they've added more material and labour to the job.

What is labour? Just kidding. Yes, I added for the additional material and labor. Another plus!
