1st wood deck in years

This is the first wood deck we have done in a couple of years. Cedar for the decking with blind screwing redwood posts, 2x4's with deckorators balusters and cedar top cap. Came out looking cool. I would love to do some more like it.

Welcome back to the good side Robert. Next time use Ipe, and you might never go back to composites.

Nah, around here IPE costs quite a bit more than composite and requires staining every 6-12 months to look good... People spending that much money dont want to maintain (and no I have no desire to set up a maintenance contract)

Curiously, Ipe here, is cheaper then all of the popular composites. Installation costs of the ipe, probably bring it on par with the composites, but given a choice, 95% of my customers choose the ipe.

That looks like most decks here in Austin, cedar & deckorators.

No wood smells as good as fresh cut cedar.
