1st Annual CT Deck Conference & Gala

Earlier this year or late last year some (2) of the S/E companies held their first Annual conference/gala/summit. As some of you are aware, a few of our members attended the Deck Expo in Vegas this week and created the ST Annual CT Deck Conference & Gala.

Some Results:

1- Four companies attended the event.

2- The sit down conference was in the hallway of the Hilton hotel. This was an old style sit down since we only had one chair for 5 people.

3- The formal dinner (Hardrock) was attended by 7 people and lasted for hours (someone was tardy...).

4- None of the ct members turned out to be "as seen on cops" nor did any of them dress in drag.

The two late comers were Matt and his brother from this forum. I had to marvel at the eating ability of BoneSaw. I think he downed two full meals, desert and 1/2 dozen shots. He's my hero.

Here is a pict of the overeaters buffet.

I exchanged pm's with him yesterday and found out that he was at the Hard Rock sitting next to you. I feel like a jerk now. It's all Nathans fault for not giving us CT tee-shirts for the event.

Re: 1st Annual CT Deck Conference & Gala

I figured I'd add a pic of myself; it's kinda a late introduction.
We'll have to try again either next year at the Deck Expo or Remodeler's show or whatever.

Take care ya'all!

Chris:

I didn't want to interrupt. Besides, I saw how those shots were going down! LOL

Actually, you guys were talking, so at first I didn't want to interrupt, but then I started thinking maybe I had pissed someone off or something, so I figured I'd just be quiet & unoffensive.

Chris, with decks.com, is the only option a paid listing? If so, does the owner track his hits for my area so I would know the traffic?

The reason I ask is there are no contractors on it from my area so a "top of the list ad" would really be the only one on the list. Another one, do any of you guys get much action through nadra?

I believe you can get listed for free, Call Eric and tell him I sent you, In my case I went for the paid subscription to get a top listing among several other listings in my search radius. I know Eric has done everything to get a top listing for searches related to decking and railing, so I'm pretty sure anyone browsing decks in RI MA will find it run a zip code search and bingo there you are. As far as nadra, I don't know, I haven't joined.

Re: 1st Annual CT Deck Conference & Gala

I haven't gotten anything from NADRA. Mind you, I'm not looking to ditch my membership, but I don't get any leads. Honestly though, I'm looking to use it as something that sets me apart from others; and the future training, as well as any potential leads is just icing.

Just my thoughts.

I'd be up for some brain-pickin.
We do have a pretty close market, but we cater to different homeowners, if I "read" your pictures correctly. You seem to go for the higher-end, creative decks; where as we go for the nicely built, but more traditionally sized & designed decks. (We 45 corners & do herringbone patterns, you make flippin clover leaves! LOL)

It'd be nice to know each other better. I think our businesses could complement each other well.

I've got our homeshow coming up this weekend; but I'm flexible with my timing from now till then, and probably still pretty flexible after the show.
What's your schedule looking like? I'll buy you lunch or something if you're interested.

Dude I must either not be paying attention these days or I must just be getting dumber, because I never even noticed, payed attention or looked at that sign, I thought that buffet was there for us, I waltzed in there and loaded up several times
