Wall Oven Breaker Question

am installing a GE wall oven and have a question regarding breaker size.
its a 220v 6.2kw, install sheet says use 30amp breakers and the feed
from panel is #10 awg but the wires from the unit to the outlet are
only #16 awg. seems thin to me.
could someone shed some light on this? do i use 30amp breakers?

It is thin...but the internal wiring of appliances is not subject to the NEC.

Actually a 30 amp breaker seems kind of small for 6.2kw but the manufacturers instructions out weigh all.

6.2kw =6200watt / 240 volt = 25.833 amps
25.833amps X 125% (continuous load) = 32.29 amps Normally you would "one up" to the next standard size breaker not one down.

Since when is a range/cooktop considered "continuous"?

Re: Wall Oven Breaker Question

thanks, diff wiring spec/heat treated sounds plausible to me.
the install is for myself, am building my retirement home from the dirt to the ridge vent caps and yes their has been a few questions on the way.
the GE unit is the only one i noticed with 16 gauge, thats all.
don't think this is a stupid question as several electricians couldn't tell me
so i asked here for better odds.
