Tv Blows Circuit And Destroys Computer
Why does a circuit trip when a new plasma TV with grounded plug is plugged in. Also the same circuit tripped when a Dell computer was plugged in (the computer was then found out to have had a bad power supply) - The circuit did not trip when a skill saw or other devices were plugged in however.

Re: Tv Blows Circuit And Destroys Computer
I have no idea other than the computer and television are both sensitive pieces of electronic equipment. Is this an old house, new house, new/ old receptacle?

If you move the cord out of the center of the room, maybe the circuit won't trip over it.

Re: Tv Blows Circuit And Destroys Computer
I used to be an electrician, but have been working as a computer systems engineer since about 1995. This gives me superior credibility in answering such questions. I would have to say that the computer has a virus which was spread to the new plasma TV. The saw did not catch the virus because it's not a high tech computer controlled device. You should call compgeeks.com and have them rid your house of viruses.
