Timer... Solenoid... Leak Through Current?

If I have a solid state timer with a leak through current of 1 milliamp in the off setting, and a solenoid rated at 4 VA, is that enough to do anything to the solenoid? activate it in anywy? if I'm doing my math right, at 120v, that's about .12 of a volt amp, so 1/33rd or so of full power. If this solenoid is operting a pressurised hydraulic valve, is it enough to cause a leak?

A leak in the valve? The valve will either be open or closed. Not something in between. Untill there is enough current to overcome the spring the valve will stay closed.

If you have a fluid leak (constant), you may want to look at the diaphragm , gaskets or seals in the valve. Also check for rust or sediment inside the solenoid that may be hindering normal operation

No it will not. There will not be enough energy in the coil to move the pistion in the soleniod. If the piston in the solenoid does not move, the hydraulic valve will not shift. Does this have to do with theory or is there a hidden practical reason for the question?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Carry On!
