Well be adding 10" trim around the door in the master bedroom. You'll need to relocate the 4g switch box. Sorry we didn't tell you before it was a last minute thing. You know how women are, LOL.

All you had to do was turn the switch on to fix the broken outlet?

Yes, ma'am

$85.00 for that?

Yes, ma'am

To which I respond, "Three-way and four-way switches are stock items, and don't cost that much. If you want me to special order two-way switches, I certainly can, but they cost quite a bit."

I want 15 can lights in here, and can I have a switch at every doorway? (4 doorways). I want some lights outside, can I have a few switches AND motion detectors too? Oh, and can you do this tomorrow when the siding is being taken off?

33. Can you make it so when all the switches are down (even the 3- and 4-ways), all the lights go off?

Been there, done that, and was told to get out of the house. That's the only time I've ever been told to leave and not come back to a job. The lady was a total bitch. I explained it to her at least a half dozen times how the circuit works and why it wouldn't always be "exactly" the way she wanted it. It's as if she thought I was trying to pull a fast one on her. It was the day after Chicago Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood threw 20 strikeouts. Don't ask why I remember that, I just do.

I guess I'm missing something here. I always install my switches so that when ALL are DOWN (including 3way and 4way), the lights are off. Of course, (3way) when they are both up, the lights are off as well.

I get this request all the time, and understand what they are asking. They know that there will be various cominbations of switch poitions (especially with multiple 4ways) that will result in either an open or closed circuit, but they just want to make sure that when they are ALL DOWN, the lights are off.

I do it the same way, but as soon as someone changes a switch in the kitchen, the one in the dining room or hallway is still down, yet one light is on.

Is it possible what they're asking for is assurance that, say... before going on vacation or something that WHEN all of the switches are down, the load is definately off? (Not that if one is up, the rest must move up as well...)

29 - Can you give me a better price?

30- Is that the best you can do?

The best is, "if I pay cash, will you give me a discount?" Or, "I will pay you with cash, so take that into account when you write up your estimate."
