What Does Putting A Ground Fault Do To A Two Wire Circiut
How Does It Make Putting Three Prong Outlets Ok I Have An Idea But Want To See What You Theory Guys Know |

As you probably know, a GFI does not need a ground to work properly.
By protecting a circuit with a GFI you get the benefits of the GFI, meaning the monitoring of the circuit between line and neutral. If there is an imbalance the GFI will trip. The imbalance has to go to ground eventually. So a circuit without the protection of a grounding conductor still has the protection of opening a circuit if there is a fault to ground.
