Standy By Generators

Anyone trying or having any luck selling 7-12kw stand by generators? I ran an ad in the local paper and sold 4 complete 7kw sets for rural customers. It's a easy money maker and takes less than half a day to install, if you use tha guardian set. Just giving some winter time ideas.

We did about 18-20 of them this summer. We had some nasty storms and folks in certain areas were without power for a week...I think starting in the spring we will get another run...

We got hit with that ice storm in Dec. and another in Jan. The Generators were my Nov. special. Great timing for some folks bad for others.

I install 20-30 a year but larger units. It takes a bit longer than half a day though. They require permits here and they have to be on slabs. Most run on LPG and require a tank buried in the yard. The process takes about 6 weeks, start to finish including sod. Cost, around $6K.
