Sprinkler Line

Not sure if this should go here:

Doing some digging and I cut the control line for a sprinkler system (a small yellow wire of 4 parts).

I can repair the PVC fine, but have no idea whether I should tackle the electric line or not.

Main questions:

1) If I mess up the repair are there any fire hazards? The line is completely underground and nothing near the control box has been disturbed. So if water would get into the connection or the connection was faulty I think it would just trip the breaker? THoughts?

2) If this is doable, how do I ensure a water tight connection?

No fire hazard, its 24 volts. Twist the wires good and use some good grease filled wire nuts, not the cheapo ones.. You could just bury it, but if you want to be a sweetheart you can set a small, like 6" round, irrigation control box over it in case something goes wrong some time.

Re: Sprinkler Line

No fire hazards. And it should be low voltage line.

Splice and tape with waterproof tape or waterproof splices. Electrical or irrigation supply should carry both.
