Solar Power

Does anyone have experience with solar power panels? What is the best company from which to buy the panels and inverters? Seimens seems to have quality with high current values. Other than location, what are the major parameters in deciding to go at least part solar?

Re: Solar Power

How much power do you need your solar to supply every day?
How long each day does your site receive adequate sun?
Planning to do a grid tie in or stand alone?

I am no expert, but I have installed and serviced a bit of solar this past year w/ a contractor and picked up some things. I know that it is important to calculate how much energy this home will use each day.....in order to calculate how much energy you need to produce....if you can produce it and store it efficiently (cost-wise) then go for it. If it turns out that the solar system you need will be too large to be cost efficient..don't bother.

Go to Realgoods dot com...they have a ton of info on their site...good luck, ask specific questions, I won't answer them if I don't think I can help.
