Residential Sq.ft. Rates Estimates For S.E. Texas

I am very new at this and don't know where to start on bidding for a new construction home. I have been in industrial electrical trade for 30 yrs. and have done a lot of side work but never wanted to bid on a new home job before. Can anyone give me some assistance or guidance? Thanks

I don't know about your area specifically, but this topic has been hot lately.
Here is a link to another thread on this:

Also, so a search of this site and you'll get some more threads. Or you can just look back a few days/weeks worth of posts.

Thanks Speedy, I appreciate your help.

What or how do you bid "per opening"? I'm not familiar with that terminology although I am sure that I understand what yall are saying. Isn't it the same as "per device"?

Basically.

In actual terms I do per device pricing, not per opening since I price each device differently. Receptacles and switches are one price. 3-ways are another. Dedicated GFIs (such as baths) are another. Recessed are another. Etc...
You get the idea.
It all balances out in the end.

That helps. This is how I have done some bids in the past but not for a new home. I appreciate the direction and explanations.

I have heard of sq ft pricing, device/opening pricing as well as a combo of both. I am getting ready to put together a system for my company as well. I am interested in hearing what you come up with.
