Replace Day Tank

Does anyone have a general idea of how many hours it would take a 3 man crew to replace a 50 gal. day tank?

Unless it is full, a 50gal anything does not sound too hard to install. Especially for three men.

I also ask. What the hell is a "day tank"???

Re: Replace Day Tank

They are an off the shelf standardized fuel tank for diesel generators, in this case it is in a critical facility. Right now there is a 25 gal tank that is to small for the application.

The implication here is that the new tank is specifically designed to be retrofitted onto that particular generator, yes? And there are no space constraints? We'd have to have the exact brand/model for anyone who's done it to know if his experience applies.

Your most accurate response would probably come from the manufacturer.

Re: Replace Day Tank

I guess because the day tank gets filled with diesel fuel to start an emergency electrical system it is listed here in the electrical forum.

I'm the electrican, not the diesel fuel guy, (unless you'd like to buy some diesel fuel directly from me with a markup...).

would that be legal?
