Re: Regular And Emergency Circuits In Same Pipe??
I'd suggest leaving the "pipe" to the plumbers, and using "conduit" instead....

Re: Regular And Emergency Circuits In Same Pipe??
Lets start by clarifying: is it an Emergency System NEC article 700 , a Legally Required Standby System NEC Article 701, or an Optional Standby System NEC Article 702.
Art. 700 Says NO -see 700.9(C) Art. 701 Says YES - see art 701.10 Art. 702 Says YES - see Art. 702.9 It all depends on the "Emergency" system you have. Oh yeah use the term conduit. Poop goes in pipes, electrical conductors go in conduit |

Re: Regular And Emergency Circuits In Same Pipe??
i was installing an optional standby system one time and the inspector told me the transfer switch had to transfer within 10 sec. i told him it was a manual switch and explained the difference between legally required and optional standby systems
