Question

Recessed Can Lights

I am new at doing residential wiring. Is there a rule of thumb price for installing cut-in type IC rated (or non IC rated) can lights? I suppeose it matters what parts of the country I'm in. I am in northern California.
Thanks.

Re: Recessed Can Lights

Old work recessed I would only do T&M.
How do you know what you will find in the ceiling?

If I had to guess, I'd say $125-$150 each?

Re: Recessed Can Lights

Would finishing (drywall patch, priming, painting) normally be included in those prices?

Re: Recessed Can Lights

Not in my world.
I might do a little patching. I do keep dry plaster and tools on the truck but do as little as possible.
If you think I am even laying one coat of primer you're nuts!
