Problem With A Fan Light

Hey guys, I got a little problem that has me and my guys stumped but it's probably something stupid and I'm hoping you guys will know.

Doing a bath add and when we put the bulb in the new fan light, the bulb blows right away, even when the switch is turned off. There's only one hot feed for the switch box which includes switches for the vanity light, the fan, the fan light (seperate switch) and the main room light. All the rest work fine. Some of us think it's the bulbs (3 now have done the exact same thing) some think it's a faulty fan light, some think something is miss-wired.

The bulb that came with the unit was already broken so we never got to use it. It was one of those 42 watt small florescents and the stores we've been to only have up to 26 watt, could this be the problem, still seems it shouldn't have any power to it.

What do you think?

Probably ought to have your electrician stop back and check it over. It's his work, so he should guarantee it.

I think I'll do that. I wasn't gonna bother him if it was a simple fix.
