Overhead Lighting Exposed Truss & Rafter
I have been asked to install overhead lighting in a new build with exposed finished truss and rafter ceiling. Above that is insulated roofing. All I can think of is track or indirect.

Could You be a little more specific?
On a similiar job me ( the EC), the BO, & electrical fixture store rep (the owner), thought some LV suspenstion cable type lighting would work in this sitation, |

Often, pipe is run on top of the roof deck and boxes penetrate the decking. The insulation board is put down on top of the pipe, with grooves where necessary. Wiremold is another option. Track/cable is another.

Re: Overhead Lighting Exposed Truss & Rafter
Thanks for the ideas. Running pipe on top of the roof deck would make sense if recessed lighting was an option. It seems like a hassel when track would be easier. I guess track is a little old school. My experience is commercial and new house detail is a bit out of my area. I will look into the low voltage option as well.

Re: Overhead Lighting Exposed Truss & Rafter
I vote for LV cable
BTW, is the roof system integrated? or is it ceiling finish, with insulation board on top, with roof base on top? maybe you could channel the insulation before they lay the roof base on? Then you could use MC cable or some other system? How about flat, undercarpet system components fastened to the ceiling? Can they paint that stuff? This sounds like fun ...
