Mounting In Sheet Rock. Anything Better Then Toggles?

Im doing a quick speaker job in a retail store, and have laid out the speakers to mount on the walls, of course, no studs where they want them, and i will have to use something, im wondering what you would use? Im thinking toggle bolts are my best bet, (im working with 1/4'' holes. but am open to suggestions, they weigh 6.6 LBS each, and im mounting directly on the wall, in sheet rock.... suggestions? what have you used, or would suggest? here they are,

That's what we use a lot but we call them "wall dogs" not sure where that name came from. Not saying they're better than toggle bolts though.

I've hung TVs using toggles. You are fine.

molly's are stronger than toggles or zipits. Very easy to install. Available at any home center or hardware store.

Toggles worked great, I just always hesitate to use any anchors for anything with actual weight to it, I don't know why? Wow really need to stock up on some of these!

I have used and stock both Togglers and drawtights in my van. What's the difference between the two?

Re: Mounting In Sheet Rock. Anything Better Then Toggles?

that doesn't look good at all. I would not use a plastic single toggle or drawtight for a large speaker. I'd use a metal toggle or 4" screws directly into a stud.

Re: Mounting In Sheet Rock. Anything Better Then Toggles?

2 1/2" screws would have held just as good. Toggles and anchors are designed for a downward pull. This is a cantilever pull and it is an improper use of these fasteners.

Re: Mounting In Sheet Rock. Anything Better Then Toggles?

For heavy, Toggle Bolts are the ONLY way to go. Dog Bitesm, or what ever they are, are crap. Those screw in anchors are crap. The only other acceptable anchor are the ones like Davitk featured.
