The Most Amazing!

The folks had a roof put over a patio and added two ceiling fans. Whoever did the electrics seriously F/U'd. This just happend today.

The interior drywall job (by the installer) was total trash and had to go. The (whatever) used a zipbox. During the demo, one switch just fell to the floor and exposed stripped wires inside of the box.

Re: The Most Amazing!

Sounds like real handyman work. Good you found it. Don't know why the switch fell off its connections, but suffice it to say, he didn't do something right. Naturally, a fan must be mounted on a fan rated box, or secured directly to framing members.

Didn't have the camera with me today. I'll see if I can get a photo before Jim gets to it. If this isn't the worst that I've seen, it's close.
