Low Voltage Lighting...
Hello all, Need some answers about low voltage lighting from all the experts out there? I've only used lv lighting a time or too but am in the middle of a remodel an the owners have decided to install more lv lights. My questions start with where do you normally install your transformers in the attic, the basement, I was going to install these in the attic but was concerned about the heat up there what do you think. The times that I have used lv the houses had a mechanical room where the tranformers were located this home doesnt have one. Also I think if you go over 100va you can no longer wire them as class 2 circuits. So do you fuse the secondary side? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: Low Voltage Lighting...
The indoor low voltage lighting transfomers have their own fuse or breaker.
I install them where ever I can. In the basement, laying on top of the cupboards, in the garage, mechanical room, etc. I'd suggest you look at the proposed manufacturer's spec sheet with regard to operating ambient before you install one in the attic, however. |
