Re: Lost Power - Cant Locate Fault

Just to be clear... in my original post I was just looking for a tip on how to trace this faster since I was in a time crunch, with the office being down and such. We all have short-cut tips, you know what I mean. So for the guys that replied constructively, thanks

Re: Lost Power - Cant Locate Fault

So what was the problem? Was it a dropped/open neutral or what?

Can you ask the sparky that fixed it what the problem was, or did he just blow you off? I recall you said something about a bunch of old wires or something that were bad, but that wasn't quite the specific answer at all.

So what was the problem? I am glad you got it fixed, but it sucks you didn't tell us exactly what was wrong ...

Again, glad to hear you got that problem fixed.

Re: Lost Power - Cant Locate Fault

Nothing scientific. Cut into the insulation from below and inspected down the line. Found a j-box where the conduit was pulled loose and some cable was showing. I assumed that was the culprit so I replaced the box and that section of the romex and put everything back together and everything came back. Sparky came out with a TDR and confirmed everything was clean so we zipped it back up and got back to making money.
