Long Lighting Runs Article
Doing a bid on a 1,000 ft run with 30x150watt pole lights and gate controller at end with post lights. About 6,000 VA load peak. Always looking for better ways to do things and thought this article was useful/interesting.

Re: Long Lighting Runs Article
My Browser hangs up on your link, but anyway without reading it, I hope it tells you to bump up voltage to 480 or 600 for run and then drop it back down to what you need to serve the load. Most likely that will be cheaper to do.

Re: Long Lighting Runs Article
Check the specs of your gate controller carefuly, I got burned onece by having the combus wire too long....supplier and manufacturer didn't think to mention it.
Long story short after many wasted days a heated dog-house was built to house the controller LOL |
