Just Curious, And Not Sure If You Sparkies Will Even Know

I have a running bet with DH that the industrial, on demand hot water, coffee maker we have, drains a TON on our electric.

Seriously, when it cycles, I can SEE the lights dim. He doesn't believe it costs that much to run it.

I'd gladly take a nice simple french press pot over this stupid thing, but in his eyes it's "cool".

My electic bill averages $218/month. I'm curious as to how much of that is because of this stupid coffee maker.

This is not anything earth shattering, so don't kill yourself trying to answer or anything. I was just curious and thought I'd ask you guys before I called the power company to ask them.

Spanks very much!

Hi Kristine, I'm just curious what the ratings on this coffe maker are ? Like you said, it's def a huge load if you can see the lights dimming, I can pretty much figure my electric bill to within 10% , I based it on about 11 cents per kilo watt hour ( I'm in PA now, my very small condominium in NJ is higher) but that amount is tax, surcharge and every other thing they tack on my bill. Just wondering, Jim
