Jacuzzi 2 Pole 20,30

I did a prep for a jacuzzi recently recently where I laid 40' of 1" pvc and pulled #6's and had the 50 amp gfi disco ready to go. But when they had the spa delivered it says it needs a 2 pole 20 and a 2 pole 30.What? How common is this? Tech support said I was screwed, I have never seen a 2 pole 20 or 30 gfi before. I know they exist but I still have never seen one. One buddy of mine said it should have came with a fancy disco, but it didn't. Does any one have any experience with this? Thanks bk..........go wings!

Yeah, I've run into quite a few of them like there. There's a special spa disco that you feed with your 50/60 amp and it has a 20 and 30 GFCI in it already. I forget who makes it, but it's on the shelf at my supply house. Something like spa specialties; don't quote me on that. I dont' have anything at hand right at the moment that I could tell you any better.

Myself, I don't really do any jacuzzi prewires unless I have dataplate information. Lacking that, they're getting an empty conduit from A to B for now.

Well from this point forward I too no longer do spa pre wires unless I have a name plate as well.

I think Home Depot sells a Jacuzzi panel. Why can't you put a 60a GFI and then a sub panel by the jacuzzi?

Typically those "20/30 breaker" spas come with the panel and breakers. I have yet to see one that didn't.

Are you saying that the people get the disco when they buy the hot tub? That's a good idea, right there. That sure would save us electricians a lot of grief. The one hot tub store I wire for a lot just gives the customer an electrical cut sheet at the time of the sale.

The one guy I talked to who had done one before said The disco came with the spa by the manufacturer. I would like to do some retro fitting if I could but I guess I can pull in some #12's and use the 6''s as the 30 amp. Is each of those has it's own neutral as well I guess?

I'm curious to know if you could use a 50 amp GFI to feed a subpanel with a double 20 and a double 30 in it.

Bet it wouldn't work.

Did the spa manufacturer specify GFIs for those two breakers?

Yup, I can safely say every one of these I've done the panel has come with.

I forget, but I think one circuit is straight 240v, and one is 120/240v.

and does any one know of a brand because I cannot find one in orange county? The breakers and panels we all GE if I remember correctly. The brand of spa I couldn't say.
Added text to make post long enough.
