Install Solar/Wind Combo's

Anyone out there install any Solar/MicroWind combo's for residential customers???? Found some good microturbines that only take 4mph wind or greater to start producing power. That along with some solar arrays might be something we could sell to the consumer. Doesn't look to bad to install at all. It will probably come down to a ROI thing. The microturbines have a better ROI of about 10yrs with solar a tid bit or more behind. I have a good microwind supplier I like. Anyone know any inexpensive solar array companies out there. I see the normal retail is $400-$500 a grid (1 sq meter) 100watts/hr max production. Any tips/links would be highly appreciated. My backup plan is Radio Shak for all the parts.

do tell more. I plan on doing this as soon as I have my electrical cert. What system is a 4mph? There is a company out there, can't remember the name, the actual turbine housing is a square box. Stay away from that company. They are no good. But yes I am VERY interested in doing this!

Re: Install Solar/Wind Combo's

here is one I like. It powers a seaschool in korea over the last few years. Inexpensive, low maintainance. Quicker payback than solar. Maybe with the combination of the 2 you could sell it. I'm actually not in a good sun or wind area so it's going to be a hard sell here. http://www.securewindenergy.com/

It's the windmill ones at top. They are a US distributor of motorwave.com from korea who actually invented this one. I've seen all other types but this seems most efficient and inexpensive of all so far.....

Re: Install Solar/Wind Combo's

There are two great sites to go to.......homepower and otherpower. Homepower gives you links to several solar panel distributors.

I'm glad to see someone start a thread in regards to alternative energy. I'm saving up now to install wind/solar combo for my own house. If you have any good links or other good information and your willing to share with me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Most of the solar panels mfg'd nowadays can withstand some hail. I would say it really depends on the size of the hail and the severity of the storm.

It appears as if there are several of us that are interested in this.
